Namaste la gente!
I saw this diagram on Facebook and decided to share it with you all. Last year I started the project of describing the eight members of yoga science and dropped the ball. I am not a blogger so dedicating that time to write them out (in French and English) was too laborious a task for me. Spending time with my daughter, being outside, and enjoying the moment took precedent over rehashing these simple and effective principles which have been written many times a lot more eloquently than I ever could. Take time to go beyond the physical aspects of yoga. Read A Light on Yoga by Mr. Iyengar or The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga by Swami Vishnu-Devananda or the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - that's a tough one but well worth it. There are many great texts out there for you to explore, so please do...and enjoy. Have a good weekend and à bientôt!
Hello Good People! Here is the video I mentioned in the Hatha Flow class. It is a good practice, easy to follow. If you practice Hatha Flow, we have to make some modifications for postures ( for example, instead of going down to Chattaranga, lower the knees , chest and chin to the floor and slide into Bhujangasana / Serpent) . Also, she practices Headstand - Sirsasana Salamba - and I do not advise you to try unless you have already practiced headstand before. During this time, you can do core strengthening exercises or stay in Savasana / Corpse posture. Watch the entire video and then try it, that way you can follow it easily. Practice consciously, let your breath guide your movements, and listen to your body. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! Namaste!
